Kate giving a beachcombing talk

“Jaw-droppingly interesting”

- Wendy from The Oddfellows (Ipswich Branch)

If you’d like to book a talk please contact me by telephone or email. I am taking bookings up until my retirement on April 9th 2024.

My talk is entitled “Suffolk Shingle: Tales of Treasure and Trash” and lasts about 45 minutes. I will show some of the treasures that can be found amongst the stones, including the shells of voracious carnivores, the egg cases of cannibal sea snails, and fossil teeth from woolly mammoths and sharks … every single find tells a story. The best comment I can hear at the end of a talk is “I will never look at a beach the same way again.”

My talk is very hands-on, with lots for your members to handle and explore. A frequent comment from audiences is “the best talk we’ve had in ages” and you can read other testimonials from people who’ve heard my talk here.

The cost is £70. I only charge for travel time if the journey is an hour or more each way.

I require no equipment other than a large table and chair and I ask that I speak before any business section of your meeting.

I am often able to give talks at short notice should a planned speaker be unavailable.

Please get in touch if you’d like to book a talk or have any questions. (This talk is suitable for any group interested in beachcombing finds, not just shingle beaches in Suffolk.)
