BEACHCOMBING ON SIZEWELL BEACH

  • Sizewell Beach Sizewell Gap, Sizewell IP16 4UH (map)

Sizewell beach is a superb location for beachcombing, full of Suffolk shingle plants. And it’s a great spot to find coralline crag, full of fossils. There will also be an opportunity to see some more unusual beachcombing finds.

Please join me ten minutes before the beachcomb begins so we can start promptly on time. Sorry, but if you are late you won't be able to join us.

Meeting point: The large brick toilet block in Sizewell Beach car park, Sizewell Beach, Sizewell Gap, Sizewell IP16 4UH

Do I need to book? No.

How much does it cost? £5 for each person.

How long will it last? Two hours.

Who is this suitable for? All ages except very young ones. (For younger children please call Kate on 0751 255 7200 to discuss suitability.) Beachcombing is suitable for children and adults alike. Treasuring our beaches is addictive whatever your age, so all are welcome. Children must be supervised at all times by their accompanying adults.

What should I wear? It can be windy and cold on the beach even on a sunny day so wrap up with layers for warmth and against the wind. Please wear shoes suitable for walking on shingle.

What if it's horrible weather? The weather can be very changeable but the beachcomb will go ahead unless it's torrential rain or high winds make the beach dangerous.

Is there parking? There is a large pay & display car park immediately next to Sizewell beach.

Can I bring my dog? Yes, well-behaved dogs kept on a short lead throughout the walk are welcome.

I can't make this date, will there be other walks? Yes, there are Beach Bonkers beachcombing events throughout the year.
