  • Bawdsey Village Hall The Street, Bawdsey IP12 3AH (map)

An opportunity to combine beachcombing and art. Absolutely no experience of either required!

We will spend the morning on East Lane beach in Bawdsey hunting for beach treasure with Kate Osborne, conservationist and beachcomber. In the afternoon, the artist Carole Massey will show you how to recreate your treasures, drawing with pencil, charcoal and water soluble pencils. Huge thanks to Frames by Robert in Woodbridge who have provided some of the materials.

Cost £40 per person. This event is limited to only ten people and you must book your place in advance. To do this please contact Kate by email at or call on 0751 255 7200.

Can't make this date? There is another Beachcombing & Art workshop on Saturday 29th September. There are also beachcombing workshops on Sunday 20th May and Sunday 3rd June (both as part of the Suffolk Walking Festival Fringe) and on Saturday 15th September.

Please be aware:

> The course and beachcomb will go ahead regardless of the weather

> There is a short steep slope to access the beach. This takes less than a minute and someone who used a stick for walking managed it okay. If you have very limited mobility a beachcomb on Felixstowe beach might be more suitable as there are plenty of places to sit down and we walk hardly any distance at all. Details of those walks are available on my events page.
