Please join me. We will be both collecting and recording the litter we find for a Marine Conservation Society survey. And if you want to come beachcombing, you can do that later in the day in Felixstowe.
Meeting point: Meet at the big red brick toilet block in Manor Terrace car park, Manor Terrace, Felixstowe. IP11 2EL. I will be obvious in a bright yellow hi viz jacket.
If you've come beachcombing with me you know we always clean up the beach when we're treasure hunting. The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) organises Beachwatch, quarterly beach cleans and surveys, with the Great British Beach Clean taking place across the country every September. Volunteers survey 100 metre stretches of beach recording every item of litter they find. This data is collected, collated and analysed by MCS.
Adults and children welcome. Wrap up warm!
What if it's horrible weather? The weather can be very changeable but the beach clean will go ahead unless it's torrential rain or high winds make the beach dangerous.
Is there parking? There is plenty of free parking in Manor Terrace car park.
