BRINGING THE BEACH TO FELIXSTOWE LIBRARY

There will be a mini shingle beach for the morning in Felixstowe Library!

Can you decipher the clues to find the treasures hidden in the mini-beach? There will be a tableful of beachcombing treasures for you to handle. Have you ever seen a mammoth's tooth?! Will you look after the beach in the giant beachcombing board game and make it to the end and become a successful beachcomber?

And if that inspires you to come beachcombing then join me on Felixstowe beach that afternoon or at another of my walks or workshops.

BEACHCOMBING ON FELIXSTOWE BEACH

  • Visit Felixstowe beach hut opposite Felixstowe Town Hall (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join Beach Bonkers to hunt for beachcombed treasure on Felixstowe beach and learn the stories it tells us.

Please join me ten minutes before the beachcomb begins so we can start promptly. Sorry, but if you are late you won't be able to join us.

Meeting point: Visit Felixstowe beach hut opposite Felixstowe Town Hall, Undercliff Rd W, Felixstowe IP11 2AG

Do I need to book? No.

How much does it cost? £4 for each person.

What age is this suitable for? All ages. Beachcombing is suitable for children and adults alike.  Hunting for treasure on our beaches is addictive whatever your age, so all are welcome. Children must be supervised at all times by their accompanying adults.

What should I wear? It can be windy and cold on the beach even on a sunny day so wrap up with lots of layers for warmth and against the wind. Please wear shoes suitable for walking on shingle - flip-flops or open-toed sandals will be uncomfortable.

How long will it last?  An hour and a half.

What if it's horrible weather? The weather can be very changeable but the beachcomb will go ahead unless it's torrential rain or high winds make the beach dangerous.

Is there parking? There is plenty of free, as well as pay & display, parking in Felixstowe.

Can I bring my dog? Well behaved dogs on a short lead are welcome.

I can’t make this date, will there be others? Yes, there are Beach Bonkers beachcombing events throughout the year.
